It was a part time telesales magazine renewal service. We read from a script and it was hilarious.

The main point was to get the person to say 'Okay. It wasn't always clear to the customer that they had, in fact, bought the magazine again. I lot actually didn't want to, but the way the script worked you could kind of talk around that, and most people say 'ok'. Pros Short Hours. Cons soul crushing sales technique. This was an okay place to work while I was in school.

If you can stand telemarketing, they had a pretty dectent pay program. The people you work for are amazing. They are always willing to listen and understand you have a life outside of work.

I enjoyed working at Ebsco. It was a people-friendly place with an open-door policy. The people we spoke with were generally friendly and most were happy to receive the Business Trade magazines that we offered. We were sales oriented to get the magazines into the hands of the people. The hardest part was locating and speaking to the magazine subscriber and obtaining the sale, in the event that they were not already receiving the magazine.

I learned sales techniques and how to gain a rapport with people. It was enjoyable talking with people on a day-to-day basis. Pros It was a very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere to work in daily. Cons It was a part-time position. Long days, many calls also many hang-ups, 3 breaks not much time for lunch. Very challenging at times. Learned to listen and to put customer first. The hardest part was after my being there for 18 years was saying goodbye. I loved working for Ebsco. I was looking for work and had no prior experience.

I was hired in May and was eager to start. After a month I was confident in myself and started to really enjoy it. I love the laid back atmosphere and everything about the call center.

It was easy and fun at the same time. I was informed the first week of August the company will be closing at the end of September.

I was really upset because I just started working again. I am sad to leave but look forward to a better opportunity.

Pros Laid back, fun atmosphere, good management.
