Which bosses can you skip in ulduar

Was only running it for the music scroll which dropped last week so might not do DS so often now although I need the blazing drake for the achiev….

I used to use the ICC skip a long time ago, does that still work? Assume you only mean ICC. DS would be handy if it worked as Spine is a pain. Basically you do all the raid once and then you are done foreve and just kill the last boss.

Is there some specific technique for it? Strange i remember looking at guides to farm tusk of Mannoroth and i remember a similar strat. Ah right forgot about the Mythic mount. You can then use that alt each week to skip most of Ulduar, only doing General Vezax on 10 and then switching to 25 for Yogg-Saron. Ulduar is the first raid Blizzard started to experient with hard modes — here you had to do something specific to activate the hard mode of the boss.

Ulduar is the only place this type of hard mode was put in place — for all the raids after this Blizzard had the explicit heroic mode and then added the mythic mode in Warlords of Draenor. Since the 7. Before going into the bosses, first a word about Ulduar itself. Its a beautiful raid instance. It has a varied design through the raid — each watcher has their own theme — and the Titan theme in general makes for a nice environment to raid in.

And always look up — there are some lovely paintings on the ceilings! This is the view you have on entering Ulduar — a staging ground where you can mount, repair, etc. There is an orge on the far right of the staging ground you can repair at. Once the boss is activated the vehicles become usable; when soloing I prefer to use demolishers as they make short work of the boss.

The demolisher abilities are:. You can pretty much ignore the mobs here — just keep on rolling. Once you reach the end of the route, turn and kill off the chasing mobs. Followed by the mobs infront of the gate. Killing the pair of Ulduar Colossus will summon the boss. XT Deconstructor, the boss with the best emotes which caused a wipe the first time my raid team encountered him, is a giant robot. XT is a simple right — it has so little health compared to our damage at level it dies in just a hit or two.

When you enter the antechamber, run to the end of the corridor and go up the stairs. Who Loken then corrupted — the quests in Stormpeaks goes over the full story here; its not short, but it is quite a nice tale which is woven. Even if [redacted] and we have to come into Ulduar to make amends!

The route to reach him is shown above. The trash has some gotchas. Thorim is the next boss up and requires a bit of running to handle! Once the mobs are dead and Thorim starts to monologue about remembering you from the mountains, run an pull the lever highlighted below:.

Follow him down and nuke him down. You can ignore the elders here. There are two ways to start Mimiron; one is to just tag the boss.

Melee will need a ranged attack to do damage or you should wait until an assault bot spawns, kill it and then use the magnetic attractor it drops. In the final stage all of the previous parts come together to make V0-L7R-0N.

The corridor to use is behind Freya. The trash can be handled easily; the faceless ones next to General Vezax will start to walk towards you once the trash pack roughly in front of each has been killed. And now for the main event, Yogg-Saron. This is an execution fight, with your sanity as a key resource — go insane and its game over! We have to kill the Guardians of Yogg-Saron on top of Sara; they explode on death and reduce her health. They respawn at set times, but you can increase their spawn rate by running through the clouds of green gas which are floating around.

It starts at and mechanics in the fight reduce the stacks. If you have to wipe then getting your sanity to zero is the fastest way to do so; easiest when the brain room is accessible. To escape the brain room you have to kill all of the yellow NPCs and then go back to the brain to nuke it down. The layout of all three events is shown below; the brain is in the center and is always at your back when you spawn in the room.

In the forging of the demon soul the mobs are dragons. In the torture of Bolvar they are groups of cultists. In Stormwind for the assassination of King Llane the mobs look like guards:. Whilst killing the NPCs you must watch out for the skulls in the room — especially if your sanity is getting low. This was the longest mount grind, Invincible was pain as well but Mimiron's Head took much longer and it was really pain in the ass!

Comment by Jembro Hello everyone! Mimiron's head FINALLY dropped for me today so I figured I would make a guide letting everyone know what I consider to be the most time-efficient method of farming it, assuming you use several characters per week to farm the mount. A few facts: How many Yogg-Saron 25 man kills did it take before the mount dropped for me: Did the mount drop for me on the character that I used to clear the instance up to but not including Yogg-Saron: NO Was the character that I used to clear the instance up to but not including Yogg-Saron still in the party when the mount dropped: YES Was the character that I used to clear the instance up to but not including Yogg-Saron the party still the party leader when Yogg-Saron was pulled: NO Were the 2 characters in the party the character that I used to clear the instance up to but not including Yogg-Saron, and the one that the mount dropped for from the same account and server: YES MY METHOD: First off it should be noted that while farming this mount I was doing it across 12 characters, I also had their hearthstones set to Summer's Rest aka.

Pandaland becasue there is a portal there that takes you to the Northrend version of Dalaran which is a fairly short flight from the Ulduar instance. Step 1 Once inside Ulduar 25 man with your first character you must clear the instance up to but not including killing Yogg-Saron.

This is so that you can use the first character as an instance lock out for the others. The fastest method to clear up to Yogg-Saron is as follows. Upon entering the instance go to the teleporter and teleport to "Ulduar Tram". Instead of getting on the tram turn around and make your way back to the middle of "The Inner Sanctum of Ulduar". Then kill Auriaya, then Hodir, then Thorim, then Freya. Doing this allows you to get to Mimiron without having to ride the tram.

Once you have killed Mimiron take the teleporter back to "The Conservatory of Life". Head counter clockwise around the room util you get to the "Hall of Memories" and head down that corridor and kill General Vezax. Once you have done this you have unlocked the telportation pad at "The Prison of Yogg-Saron". Hearthstone out of Ulduar. Step 2 Make a party on the character that has the lockout that nobody will likely join I made a party for Naxxramas 10 man because who wants to go there and make sure you check the box to auto accept people who try and join.

Log out of the character and into a different one and join the party. Go to the teleporter and you will be able to take it directly to "The Prison of Yogg-Saron" kill him.

Repeat step 2 on all the characters you would like. I know that this process is a little bit tedious with the logging in and out but it is much faster than clearing the instance on each character. I hope this guide is useful and it can be applied to other instances. Happy mount farming everyone! Comment by Razorex i was running around doing old achievments in june , when i decided to do Glory of the Ulduar Raider 25 player, never done Yogg before this, did the 3 keepers thing, and i got the mount first shot.

Comment by GrandiaKnight I just wanted to say thanks for the guide. First ever run and I got it! Comment by Vanthalas Just came by to say that after a long grind, I got it. I stopped counting when I reached around kills, so I'd say it took me around kills. This grind almost drove me insane, but it was well worth it. Comment by Greeny Finally got this mount! This is one of the most unique mounts in the game, you got so many horsies, birdies, cats, mooses, rockets, etc but there is only one head you can ride!

Comment by snarkie Here's an updated guide for farming this mount in Legion, combining info from multiple older posts plus my own runs. This guide assumes you'll be running on multiple alts that are at least level , and I've added some tips accordingly!

Travel tips: Two good ways to get there from Legion Dalaran. There's also a portal in the room below Legion Dalaran that takes you to Wyrmrest Temple in Dragonblight. From either location, it's a short flight over to Ulduar in northern The Storm Peaks. Off we go Don't kill Yogg-Saron!

You can skip a lot of the raid with the teleporters! The first one is next to the opening in the wall across from the raid entrance. It's the bronze spinning disc on the ground that pulses green. Kill Mimiron there, teleport around to the other 3 keepers and take them out Freya, Hodir, and Thorim , and then finally murder Vezax.

If you need help, see the individual bosses on the Ulduar page. They're super easy to kill at but some of them can be glitchy especially Thorim. Use the teleporter outside Yogg's room to return to the entrance "Expedition Base Camp" and exit Ulduar. Create a custom group in Group Finder, make sure Auto Accept is checked, then log out while still in the group. Log into ALT 1 and join the custom group you made. Search by title to find it more quickly. If your main and all alts are in the same guild, you can also set group finder to private so you don't have to worry about randoms joining.

Thanks for the tip, serisx! If they're not, then the problem with Auto Accept is that other people can join your group. If that annoys you or creates problems, don't check Auto Accept. It's annoying but it prevents others from joining if you really don't want them to. I just kept booting any stragglers who joined.

No need to on ALT 1 , but you'll have to do it on any alts after that. Enter Ulduar on ALT 1 and accept the lockout. Exit the instance and do the "reset all instances" thing I mentioned earlier to reset him.

Then head back in and check again. No mount? Repeat steps until you've gone through all your alts. I recommend entering first to check if Yogg is up and, if not, only then heading back out and resetting. I've had it go both ways. I prefer to do the extra run instead since clearing up to Yogg is so easy each week that it doesn't take much extra time, but it's up to you! Cry and return next week to repeat your failures. At least Ulduar's pretty and good for the ol' transmog collection.

You should only be rotating ALT s in and out. An alt that's already killed Yogg can be kicked out to make room for fresh alts.

In fact, you may have to boot a previous alt and then reset the instance again if Yogg won't pop back up. After years Now I can cancel my account and live in peace. Comment by jam Just a quick note that while standing in the pool with Sara that you let the Guardians target you before you kill them or it will not effect Sara's health and you will be standing there for a really long time. It takes 5 kills then get out of the pool to start the next phase. Comment by sertanuzun I'm on my th my this week farming with 9 toons each week for about 2 years without passing a week.

Seems like no chance to drop for me. I wonder If I'm doing it wrong. Should I kill every boss except Algalon? I think Yogg-Saron got into my mind and playing with me. Every week without drop of Mimiron's Head , I'm losing some of my sanity. Good luck to all fellas out there trying to get this chopper. Late edit I wish you the best luck fellow collectors!

Dropped on my, I don't know by what count, probably close to the 's. Comment by Bengarion With the new scaling and the apparent inability to set the raid to 25 man solo , how does one now farm for "The Head"? Thanks, Blizz Comment by hevgirl The quest starts with a dropped Lost Mail on the ground by a mailbox in Dalaran.

Respawns approx every 2 hours. This Lost Mail is also BoE and a copy is mailed to you upon completion of the quest, so you can give it to a friend. This room, accessible by the pet cemetery, is crammed with elementals, junk mail, even a Pepe overseer!

You will have to fight with ethereals trying to ninja-loot it. City and zone names will flash on the screen, and you must click on the proper mailbox for each continent. Completing this finishes the main Postmaster questline and awards The Total Package achievement! Completing this rewards the Priority Mail achievement, the title, and Mailemental battle pet.

Katy's Stampwhistle toy is also now in your mailbox as well! Mailemental teaches the Mailemental Battle Pet. Comment by salic Don't forget to loot the new chest that spawns at the entrance to Yogg's room! It's one of the very few rares that I don't have. I guess I won't be farming that place anymore unless they fix it. Comment by Vessanda Is it lockout sharing method no longer possible after 7. Or is it just me? Comment by Measures Finally got this yesterday so yeah it still drops even though it's not in the adventure guide and it looks like your running 10 man :.

Comment by volatar As of 7. Comment by got it on the second of February , was trying to get the sword abbadon, now I can finally use a roflcopter to soar high in the air!

Comment by Ragnorock77 I like to put out here, that I have finally snagged this mount! Rarity says 9 attempts, but I just recently downloaded the add-on and over the course of the last few years, I'd say no more than maybe 50 as I have no consistently farmed it!

Good Luck Everyone! Comment by Diddz Rarity says , but this is well over kills easy. Probably closer to I'm still in shock. Thank GOD I don't have to go back to that hell hole any more Comment by lehavila List of mounts obtainable via drop from raids and dungeon. Comment by fbajonero93 Drop rate is too low. It took me kills to get Mimiron's Head. With 7. Don't forget to not talk any guardian.

Sharing lockout between pjs works perfectly, I used that method with all my pjs. Comment by Bearaugz Dropped for me today, kills over 5 toons took about a year!

GL and don't give up. I nearly did a few times. Comment by notch3o2 Just to reiterate what others have said. I received the mount 3 days ago so yes it still is in the loot table and it also drops from yogg himself NOT the loot chest. Comment by r3fusetox The shared lockout still works in 7. Comment by I just got mine at the end of January, after I got my first subscription in January as a late Christmas gift and after reaching I ran the dungeon trying to get adabbon, and low and behold it dropped, I was excited, confused but mostly amazed at how quick I got it.

Comment by Dethklok As of 8. The mount should also be in the chest if you can get it to drop. Happy Hunting. Comment by Huntercraft Its bugged to say 10 man normal even though I set it to 25 man heroic. Finally got mine today! Comment by SciofSoA Well this mount is ruined for me.

Just noticed we still sit as though mounted on a saddle. Comment by Celaderith Currently on around Ulduar runs with 2 accounts. Never seen it drop. I am pretty sad :D Good luck to all farmers! Comment by Iatrixian Just dropped for me on my ret pally alt around pm on Kirin Tor. On her very first run in there. Her first raid mount ever. After hundreds of run on my hunter main. So for those still grinding, it does exist!

Given what all else has dropped on my ret since I started playing with her through the old raids I think it may be time for a mount misery journey on her and see what else gets dropped.

Comment by dreike52 Finally dropped on my Void Elf! I used raid lockout because is the fastest way to farm the mount. Here is the proof I got it on November 15th, Been doing it on six characters each week for a couple months now.

Best of luck! Comment by Zazenkai Still dropping, finally got Head from the cache on the 98th attempt. Many here had longer dryspells and I feel for you. My hundred times was torture and I'd give up for months. Never again Ulduar! This is my crown jewel, pixels have never made me happier. Don't give up, it was all worth it now. Happy hunting. Comment by Grus Do I need to talk to Norgannon?

What condition does the raid need to be in? I have is set to Mythic and 25, but that changes to 10 while inside. I know how to do raid lockout and need to set the raid up right the first time. Comment by CrumbCookie I got it today on my 48th try. Before entering the raid I always set it to 25 normal when my char is next to the entrance it's gonna show 10 man mode on the map no matter what you do :D.

When I enter the raid, it says in chat something like raid groups set to 6 coz maximum players are 30, I assume that actually means it's on 25 man mode. It says different if you enter in 10 man. Then I talk to the left guy, Dwarf. Comment by Grus I just got it and celebrated with huge swig from my JD flask. Raid set to Normal, 25 man will change to Did not talk to Norganna. Used raid lockout. Did not check how many times it took. Don't care. Direct route. Best to park all your alts at the entrance.

Level warrior did just fine. Comment by Blaine Proof that the mount drops after Patch 7. The achievement shows a completion date of July 7, So keep trying! Comment by Vestered Just got this on the first try while trying to do the ulduar raider achievement, pretty dumb mount but ill take it lol. Comment by Animexlife Got the mount on my first kill, was going for the glory of the ulduar raider I wanted the mount from that achievement. Sorry to those who have been farming it.

This happened to me with Ashes of Alar too, I got it on my third or fourth kill. Comment by shalkecz after attemps on one character finally dropped for me - this is a whole new way of flying! Comment by Starthyas Took me almost a year between five characters doing it with a total of kills between them to finally get this to drop today. Good luck to everyone still after this! Comment by floopydoo1 just got it whilst running for mace fragments, - is mount special broken or does it not have an animation?

Comment by ToOurRoots I had posted this as a reply to another comment, but since I'm seeing people have trouble with the raid lockout sharing in 8. If you have a toon with a lockout at Yogg that you want to share with your alts, do the following: Step 1. Toon with the lockout makes the group, stay out of the instance.

Step 2. Log off, then onto another toon, sign up for the group. Log out. Step 3. Log back into the first toon With the lockout , accept the application and convert to raid Still outside of the instance. Step 4. Log back into the second toon, accept invite. Step 5. Go into the raid, kill last boss. Exit instance. Step 6. Repeat forever by making the group again on the first toon. EDIT: Important note about step 5. Then, when you kill the boss I like to wait until I'm the leader before I leave the group and exit the instance, just in case it would affect my original toon's lockout.

Comment by Ironlionzion so will this drop on a solo run or not? Comment by gmisterX Finally got it last week. It was as said, man Normal with no Wardens to assist you.

Total runs: , across 5 alts. S : Just saying this because I started having doubts at some point: It is not required to have do the questline in the area or regarding Ulduar. After tries I started thinking that it might be a factor, but I was waaaaaaaay off. Character who dropped it was a Demon Hunter who, naturally, hadn't even gotten close to Northrend.

Just keep farming and may Lady Luck smile upon you. Comment by random So And is it possible to loot this mount from man version?

Comment by Spiers Dropped for me tonight. Comment by Thothra I'm seeing so many different answers to this question so I have no idea what the truth is so I'll ask in a while new comment: Can i solo Yogg and have a chance at the mount or so I need at least 10 people to make it go to 25man for the mount to drop.

Can you call that beginner's luck? Comment by Skeptico I can confirm that it does still drop from the non-timewalking raid version. Minimap icon showed "10" apparently still counts I talked to the Dwarf to start the first boss. Probably does not matter but just giving extra details Pressed the button for Mimiron fight. Did not have any helpers for Yogg-Saron Probably not relevant, but I used the item for the legendary mace quest. So I got both the mount and the mace with one final kill.

Good luck everyone, happy hunting. Comment by Miaque Can confirm as of this date, the mechanism of getting alts in for just the last boss described by ToOurRoots still works! Wowhead isn't letting me add to his comment :. Dungeon was listed as 10 man, so this is still dropping as people have mentioned previously. Keep on truckin' if you're missing yours. Comment by Guntuan Can confirm as of 8.

I KNOW that this is already public knowledge, but if you're a paranoid wacko like me and you dont trust it till you see it, heres your proof! What an ironic day to get my mount, April fools day! Thankfully it wasnt a joke! One thing you don't need to do is you don't need to convert the group to a raid. When you join the toon with lockout just go to the instance before you become the leader since the lockout ID is based on the leader ID.

Go inside kill yogg-saron and leave. Comment by Holomar Got this today. It jerks slightly like it's animation has been interrupted for 0. Comment by Pwofese Found the fix to alt farming Ulduar. Does not require multiple accounts either. The flight path to storm peaks and then flying into the Ulduar instance takes about 75 seconds. It takes approx.

This allows you to use your alts for other things throughout the week and just hearth them back before you log out.

Also skips the wait time for logging out of your alt when you're flipping back and forth. If you have the brutosaur mount you can post auctions after you zone in but before you port to Yogg's lair. I'm realizing as I type this I've done this way too many times Comment by americanpew Finally got to drop in Comment by Rax21 I can confirm it still drops using alt lockout methods.

Dropped for me today. I did the bare minimum in the raid every time I visited; skipped every boss possible and never enlisted the help of any keepers. I do want to point out that I did not use any raid lockout shenanigans or trickery when doing my weekly runs. I don't typically have a lot of gold between my characters, so the extra boost from selling and auction housing materials wasn't a bad deal for a few hours of my time. I don't know if the info above helps anyone, but I know my faith would start to fade after weeks of not seeing this mount drop.

I would often come here and check to see if it was removed from the game, but there was always that one person who "just got it" a few days prior to me checking. Keep at it and you'll eventually get it! Comment by ayshy Mimiron's Head : Found after 36 attempts! Comment by Nanutza Dropped for me today.

Omg moment. Entered as 25 hc but shifted as 10 normal. I understood that there is no more normal or heroic, just normal Comment by Weseb It dropped just now after attemps!

Finally, the days of making a DK, leveling him to 70 and then making a DH to get one more try per week are over :- What should I do with all this time? Comment by LizardKing is it good luck to get this on your first ever run? Comment by Rhoswyn Does it only drop on Hardmode with no help from the watchers?

Comment by Marchenoir Hundred of runs and still nothing. I'm starting to feel desperate. Doesn't help either that Ulduar is such a long raid. Looking at you in particular Mimiron Comment by PsychoQT Got this to drop after attempts. For those curious, the exact path I took was: 1. Talk to Brann did not talk to Norgannon ever 2. Fight Flame Leviathan 3.

Fight XT 4. Fight Kolagarn 5. Fight the 4 keepers Hodir, Thorim, Freya, Mimiron 6. Fight Auriaya not sure if you have to but I always did 7. Fight General Vezax 8. Fight Yogg -- Do not talk to any of the Keepers after defeating them -- This might have been posted already but I wanted to just give exact steps in case others were wondering as I was.

Comment by Jeolene I'm not gonna lie, this one might test your sanity That's not counting the years past of only single runs on my main and that's also taking into account that I didn't run every single alt every single week, but it was close enough I certainly didn't get them all through the first week of Shadowlands.

Had I known it would be this long, I would have kept closer track of it, but who knew? Even Ashes of Al'ar didn't take this long and I only did single runs on my main. Some people do get lucky, others have to slog it out until the end of time. I can confirm, as others have here, that you need only take down certain bosses. Choosing the difficulty level makes no difference, it will always switch you to 10m reg this was for the Time Walking version of the raid for the flex-raid mechanic.

This is my exact kill order and what I did and still got the mount: Some notes about the pre-Flame Leviathan gauntlet : Choose the bike, it's the fastest and if you time the use of the speed boost just right, you can use it constantly without slowing down and not lose any energy. The path you choose makes no difference, everything will come after you. When you get to the three groups of Iron Dwarves at the end, ride the wall around them to take out the two large elites guarding the gate.

You can use the bike, but it's faster to jump off and kill them. As soon as the guards are taken out, jump back on your bike to reset the massive horde of Iron Dwarves that have been following you. The three groups of Iron Dwarves guarding the gate do not follow this mechanic, thus the reason for skipping them.

They are easy to kill, but if you're on a class with no AoE or one that needs to be charged, you'll be forever trying to kill them all while Flame Leviathan is punting you around like a gnome dressed in a soccer ball.

Caster class warning, he will bump you around while you are trying to cast. Have paitience, you will get off a few hits. Use instant casts when possible while it is pushing you around. It is possible to kill him with the bike, but it takes forever. Also, from this point on, when you defeat one of the four main watchers, DO NOT talk to them for the special buff. The mount only drops on Yogg's hard mode and you cannot have help from the watchers to have it active.

I personally never freed the iced mobs, maybe one or two by accident. Note : Make sure to run AROUND the big circles leading up to Thorim's pedestal after you've opened the gate to get to him so you don't get the extra stun. You cannot avoid his weapon stun, however. Also, there seems to be a range issue for melee regarding the head when all three are combined, sometimes some classes can hit it, other times they can't Teleport to Conservatory this is why you kill Auriaya first General Vezax no hard mode, but probably doesn't make a difference, plus it takes FOREVER for hard mode to finish Yogg you're automatically on hard mode as long as you didn't talk to any of the four watchers.

If you're doing loot runs and don't mind the extra time, go for it, but if you're wanting to squeeze out every second you can, skip all that you can. Doing all of this, I can complete a whole run in minutes depending on class. Some have speed buffs, others just slog along like wading through mud. So far, my monk has they fastest run time with three speed boosts that all have ridiculously short cool downs.

I think I can clear a run in 17 minutes with her. Next closest is my druid in travel form and almost able to one-shot anything, but no AoE for group mobs.

My main, a hunter, can complete a run in almost 20mins flat.
